Callers
to Noise Abatement & Disturbance Call Hotline
Listed On Official PDK Airport Website
Starting with the March Noise Report given by airport
staff at the Airport Advisory Board meeting on April 11,
2001, citizens who called the Noise Abatement and Disturbance
Call Hotline number and left a message have their name,
address and number of calls posted on the PDK Airport
website. There is no listing of the aircraft, owner or
pilot that caused the disturbance and/or violated the
voluntary night curfew. This is a classic case of
intimidation by "blaming the victim" while refusing
to address the problem.
PDK Watch congratulates neighbors who called the hotline
during March. They put the rest of us to shame for not being
more diligent. Let's make a point of calling 770-936-5442
every single time our peace and quiet is disturbed by an
aircraft.
We hope in the near future that PDK management will accept
their responsibility and implement an aggressive noise
control policy that does not require citizens' complaints to
initiate action. Mr. Remmel has the ability to do this using
the NOMS system.
