PDK Airport Good Neighbor Policy

28, 1997 by the Airport Advisory Board
1. The airport director shall
propose the agenda, with the approval of the Chairperson, for
the PDK Advisory Board meeting.
2. The agenda shall include, but not be
limited to, any proposed actions which might impact the safe
and efficient operation of the airport and/or the quality of
life of the residents in DeKalb County of which the airport
director or his designated agent has knowledge.
These proposed actions include, but are
not limited to, any proposed safety operations or changes in
safety operations, actions on noise abatement, airport policy
on handling noise complaints, proposals to utilize real
estate on the following properties: property over which the
airport director holds jurisdiction, property which the
airport has designated or has proposed to designate as
greenspace, property within the Runway Protection Zone, and
property acquired for noise abatement purposes.
3. Public participation shall be
encouraged. Any person wishing to propose an agenda item
shall submit such item to any advisory board member or the
airport director who will then submit the agenda item as new
business during the meeting. Any person proposing an agenda
item, which would require a vote from the advisory board,
shall submit such a request using the business agenda format.
4. Public outreach shall be encouraged.
The airport shall mail the agenda, accompanied by the meeting
time and place, two weeks prior to the PDK Advisory Board
meeting to each member of the Board.
In addition PDK shall forward
notification of the meeting and the agenda to each public
library with the request the meeting information be posted on
the community bulletin board of each library. PDK will also
post the announcement of the meeting and the agenda on the
DeKalb County television community bulletin board.
